Global-QVC Solutions to Provide E-Commerce, Catalog and Direct Response Service to PBS
KING OF PRUSSIA, PENNSYLVANIA, JULY 8, 2003 – Global-QVC Solutions announced today that they have been selected by the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) to develop and operate a new technology, customer service and fulfillment platform for its consumer and education products, including: the shopPBS.com Web site; the PBS Home Video catalog; on-air offers and business-to-business distribution.
The PBS consumer and educational products business consists of DVDs, videos, books, music and apparel based on PBS on-air programming and the PBS logo. The new platform is expected to launch in late 2003.
“Our consumer and educational products segment has been an important business to PBS and has contributed to our ability to fund more programming,” commented Judy Harris, Executive Vice President of PBS.
