Global Sports and People PC Sign Marketing Agreement
GLOBAL SPORTS, INC. (NASDAQ: GSPT), an Internet company that develops and operates the online businesses of leading sporting goods retailers, today announced a marketing relationship with PeoplePC, a company that makes it easier for people to get online and get more out of the Internet. Under the agreement, retailers for which Global Sports operates Web sites will be prominently featured to PeoplePC members through PeoplePC’s multiple channels of outreach, providing PeoplePC members access to unparalleled shopping experiences at multiple and unique sporting good Web sites.
Specifically, Global Sports’ retailers’ Web sites will be included on PeoplePC’s Buyer’s Club Offers Page, featuring retailers’ logos, information about retailers’ merchandise offerings, and links to those retailers’ Web sites. PeoplePC will also include a click-thru link to Global Sports’ various retailers’ Web sites via a “merchant” scroll bar, located on the left edge of the PeoplePC-Branded Browser.
Global Sports will also be able to reach the PeoplePC membership via a wide variety of marketing and communications mediums, including printed materials in PeoplePC’s New Member Welcome Packet, messages from Global Sports’ retailers in PeoplePC’s email newsletter, and inserts in PeoplePC’s monthly billing statements.
In addition, Global Sports’ retailers will have a designated key on PeoplePC’s members’ PeoplePC keyboard, which can link to Global Sports’ retailers’ Web sites. Global Sports is also offering PeoplePC members special saving on products purchased at its retail partners’ Web sites.
Through this unique relationship, Global Sports’ partners’ Web sites will be prominently promoted to PeoplePC’s large, established, and growing membership base, while Global Sports provides those members with an unequaled sporting goods shopping experience via its multiple retailers’ Web sites.
