Global Sports, INC> Announces CHange of Corporate Name to GSI Commerce, INC.
Global Sports, Inc. (NASDAQ: GSPT), a leading outsource solution provider for e-commerce, today announced the change of the company’s corporate name to GSI Commerce, Inc., after receiving stockholder approval at the company’s annual meeting held earlier today. In conjunction with the approval of the new corporate name, GSI Commerce will also change its symbol on the NASDAQ Stock Market to “GSIC” effective May 24, 2002.
In celebration of the new corporate name and trading symbol, Michael G. Rubin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GSI Commerce, Inc. will open the NASDAQ National Market on Tuesday, May 28, 2002.
GSI Commerce has evolved from providing outsource e-commerce solutions for sporting goods companies to serving other vertical categories, including general merchandise, consumer electronics, personal care, jewelry and luxury goods and media companies.
