Global Sports, Inc. Announces New Board Member

GLOBAL SPORTS, INC. (NASDAQ: GSPT) today announced that Jeffrey F. Rayport
has been named to its Board of Directors, expanding the total number of directors to
four, including three outside members.

Dr. Rayport is an associate professor of business administration in the Service
Management Interest Group at the Harvard Business School. His research focuses on
the impact of new information technologies on services marketing and management
strategies for information-based products and services. Dr. Rayport is also a founder
and director of the Monitor Marketspace Center, a technology and e-commerce media
unit based at Monitor Company, a global strategy consulting firm headquartered in
Cambridge, MA,

As a leading e-commerce consultant, Rayport has focused on helping companies
develop product/service strategies related to new technology deployment and has been
engaged by a wide variety of firms, including Ameritech, Coopers & Lybrand, France
Telecom, USA Today, General Electric, Honeywell, Johnson & Johnson, Texas
Instruments, Time Warner and Fidelity Investments.

Rayport previously worked as a reporter and writer for Fortune Magazine, as a
telecommunications analyst for Nikko Securities in Tokyo as a principal of the
Winthrop Group, a management consulting firm specializing in the history of business
and technology. His writing has appeared in a variety of publications including Fortune
Magazine, Harvard Business Review, Harvard Magazine, Harvard Business School
Bulletin, the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Regional Review, the Boston Globe,
and the Los Angeles Times. Rayport earned an A.B. from Harvard College, and M.Phil.
in International Relations at the University of Cambridge (U.K.), an A.M. in the History
of American Civilization at Harvard University, and a Ph.D. at Harvard in Business
History.
