Global Sports Signs Shopping Agreement with American Online
GLOBAL SPORTS, INC. (NASDAQ: GSPT), a leading developer and operator of e-commerce sporting goods businesses, announced today that it has signed an agreement with America Online, Inc. (NYSE: AOL), the world’s leading interactive services company, for seven placements within the Sports & Outdoors area of the Shop@AOL online shopping destinations as well as integration into the Shop@AOL shopping search engine.
Under the agreement, Global Sports-operated Web sites will be featured in the following locations in Shop@AOL: The Sports Authority (www.thesportsauthority.com) as a gold tenant in Sports & Fitness, Golf & Racquet, and Camping & Outdoors departments; Oshman’s Sporting Goods (www.oshmans.com) as a gold tenant in Sports & Fitness; Sport Chalet (www.sportchalet.com) as an anchor tenant in Golf & Racquet and a silver tenant in Sports & Fitness; and MC Sports (www.mcsports.com) as a silver tenant in Sports & Fitness. In addition, The Sports Authority, Oshman’s Sporting Goods, Sport Chalet, MC Sports, Dunham’s Sports (www.dunhamssports.com), The Athlete’s Foot (www.thealthletesfoot.com), FOXSPORTS.com (store.foxsports.com), and WebMD (store.webmd.com) will have their entire selections of products available through AOL’s shopping search database. In addition to the AOL service, Global Sports’ partners will also be carried in Shop@AOL.COM, Shop@Netscape, Shop@CompuServe, Shop@Spinner and Shop@Winamp.
