GSI Commerce appoints international Chief Technology Officer

International offering boosted by appointment of Sameer Shamsuddin

LONDON, 2 July 2009 – GSI Commerce, the full service provider of end-to-end ecommerce and multichannel retail services, today announced the appointment of Sameer Shamsuddin as Chief Technology Officer, International in a move to further strengthen GSI’s International offering. Shamsuddin, previously based in Philadelphia as VP of Product Management, will now take responsibility for GSI’s international technology operations from its European Headquarters in Barcelona. GSI’s European clients include Casual Male, Reiss, HP Europe, Early Learning Centre and Peacocks.

Having worked in software engineering since 1996, Shamsuddin is an expert in GSI’s technology solutions and was an integral part of the early development stages of GSI’s systems. Following his appointment as Director of Software Engineering, Shamsuddin was most recently VP of Product Management in which he was responsible for determining the direction for the GSI e-commerce platform, utilising client forums and feedback, market research, and leveraging industry expertise and knowledge. Prior to joining GSI in 2000, Sameer was one of the original team members of Fogdog Sports responsible for web site management and technical operations.
