GSI Commerce Announces President and Chief Operating Officer Robert Blyskal to Retire
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., August 8, 2006 – GSI Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq: GSIC) today announced that Robert Blyskal, the company’s president and chief operating officer, plans to retire effective October 2006. Blyskal came out of retirement to join GSI Commerce as co-president and chief operating officer in May 2004 and was later named president and chief operating officer in August 2005. Michael Rubin, chairman and chief executive officer of GSI Commerce, will assume the role of president following the departure of Blyskal. The company does not plan to fill the position of chief operating officer at this time.
“Bob has made significant contributions to GSI Commerce, including recruiting world-class talent and incorporating enhanced management processes,” said Rubin. “I have learned a tremendous amount from him and have genuinely enjoyed the time that we worked together. He will be missed by all of us at GSI Commerce and we sincerely thank him for all that he has done for us.”
