GSI Commerce’s Scott Hardy to Participate in Technology Panel at Internet Retailer
Event to also Feature e-Dialog’s Arthur Middleton Hughes and e-Dialog Client Wet Seal
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., June 15, 2009 – GSI Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq: GSIC), the leading provider of e-commerce and multichannel solutions, today announced that Scott Hardy, executive vice president of business management, will participate in a panel presentation, “Build, Buy or Lease? What Technology Arrangements Make the Most Sense,” at 2:00 p.m. EDT on June 16 during the Internet Retailer 2009 Conference and Exhibition (IRCE) at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center.
Hardy and fellow panelists will discuss the myriad technology options available to online retailers today, including outsourcing, purchasing and software-as-as-service (SaaS) options. The panel will lay out the pros and cons of each approach, discuss ways to implement various technologies, and help retailers understand which approach works best when. The discussion will also guide retailers through the decision process to find a solution that will suit them in light of today’s economy and for the long term. Bill Mirabito, principal analyst and founder of B2C Partners, will moderate the panel.
Hardy, a retail industry veteran, is responsible for driving growth, profitability and client satisfaction for GSI clients. He joined GSI in 2007 after more than 20 years in retail and big six consulting at Deloitte, KPMG, and most recently BearingPoint, where he led the consumer markets segment.
Also presenting at the event are Arthur Middleton Hughes, senior strategist at e-Dialog, GSI’s e-mail marketing subsidiary, and Jon Kosoff, director of e-commerce and direct marketing for e-Dialog client The Wet Seal, Inc. (Nasdaq: WTSLA), a leading women’s apparel retailer operating the Wet Seal and Arden B. brands. Hughes will co-present the session “Why and How to Segment Your E-Mail Marketing List” at 1:00 p.m. on June 18. The presentation will walk retailers through the specific steps for effectively creating and maintaining segmented e-mail lists to send highly targeted offers. Kosoff will present the “Making Marketing Work Across Channels” session at 4:30 p.m. on June 17, during which he will explain how Wet Seal balances its marketing campaigns. Kosoff will provide specific examples of multichannel campaigns that work, including e-mail, social media, and text messaging-based campaigns, and will also share best practices Wet Seal has derived from its experience.
e-Dialog Book Signing for “Successful E-mail Marketing Strategies”
In addition to his presentation, Hughes, with co-author Arthur Sweetser, will host a book-signing for their recently published book, Successful E-mail Marketing Strategies: From Hunting to Farming, in the GSI booth (#715) on June 16 from 3:15 p.m. to closing. In the book, marketing veterans Hughes and Sweetser outline intelligent e-mail practices and explain how to cultivate profitable customer relationships via e-mail.
