iRobot Selects GSI Commerce for its E-Commerce Solution
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Jan. 23, 2006 – GSI Commerce Inc. (NASDAQ: GSIC) today announced it has signed a multiyear agreement to provide iRobot Corp. (NASDAQ: IRBT) with a comprehensive e-commerce solution for online sales of the company’s home robots. iRobot’s redesigned online store is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2006. iRobot had been the unannounced home category partner referenced by GSI Commerce in its fiscal 2005 third quarter operating results news release and conference call.
GSI Commerce will provide the Burlington, Mass.-based iRobot with an integrated solution that includes technology, fulfillment, customer care, Web store design and e-mail marketing. GSI Commerce will replace an existing solution and help enhance online sales for consumers.
“The iRobot Web site is an important resource for our customers and partners as it provides them with tutorials on our robots, customer support as well as 360-degree product images to help with their buying decisions,” said Greg White, executive vice president and general manager, iRobot. “GSI Commerce’s integrated platform will now enhance the site’s e-commerce capabilities, making it easier for users to find the right information and products on our online store.”
iRobot specializes in behavior-based robots, including its family of consumer and military robots. iRobot Roomba® Vacuuming Robot has sold more than 1.5 million units since its introduction in 2002, and the company just launched the new iRobot Scooba™, the first floor washing robot for home use.
