Nickelodeon and Global QVC Solutions Join Forces to Develop New E-Commerce Site for Parents

Nickelodeon, the number one entertainment brand for kids, and Global-QVC Solutions, an e-commerce provider for television networks, have joined forces to develop and operate a new e-commerce store for Nickelodeon Online. The Nickelodeon Shop, which will launch this Spring at www.nick.com and www.nickjr.com, will allow consumers to purchase a variety of Nick-branded products based on the network’s most popular series. It is expected that the site will also help drive demand at local retail stores by showcasing the hottest Nick merchandise. The alliance was announced today by Jeff Dunn, President, Nickelodeon Enterprises and Damon Mintzer, President of Global-QVC Solutions.

The Nickelodeon Shop will allow consumers to instantly purchase merchandise based on Nickelodeon favorites like Rugrats, SpongeBob SquarePants, Blue’s Clues and Jimmy Neutron. The Nickelodeon Shop will also include exclusive Nick-branded merchandise and promotional offers available only to Nickelodeon Online shop visitors. Nickelodeon Online will oversee the creative direction and marketing of the online store, while Global-QVC Solutions will develop and operate the store, including technology, inventory management, fulfillment, customer service and merchandising.

“The Nickelodeon Shop is a great opportunity to combine Nickelodeon’s knowledge of kids and kids’ entertainment with the e-commerce expertise of Global-QVC Solutions,” said Jeff Dunn, President, Nickelodeon Enterprises. “This alliance will allow both companies to play to their strengths in creating a unique shopping destination for Nickelodeon fans.”

“Nickelodeon understands that kids look to Nick.com and Nick Jr.com and our products as another way to interact with their favorite Nickelodeon characters and stories. Through our alliance with Global-QVC Solutions, we will “super serve” kids and parents by providing quick and easy access to quality Nick merchandise,” said Mike Skagerlind, General Manager of Nickelodeon Online.

Damon Mintzer, President of Global-QVC Solutions, commented, “Nickelodeon is the leading kid’s television network in the United States, and its strong brand name, quality products and engaging characters really appeal to kids. We are delighted to be working with Nickelodeon to enhance the brand through a new e-commerce store.”
